University academic visits Centre in China for workshop preparation

Dr. Yixiang Gan, Senior Lecturer of School of Civil Engineering, The University of Sydney, visited the University of Sydney Centre in China Friday morning.

The purpose of Dr. Gan’s visit is to prepare for the Second International Workshop on Mechanics of Energy Materials(IWMEM) for 2017, an event to take place at the Centre in China in November.

Dr. Gan was shown around the Centre and briefed on the facilities available. He also discussed with the staff about details of the event.

To be hosted by The University of Sydney and Tsinghua University, IWMEM for 2017 will expect about 60 participants, with about 10 from industry and 15 from outside China-Australia.
