About us

The Centre was established in Suzhou in 2016 and moved to Shanghai in 2026.
It plays a key role in supporting the University’s China strategy and execution.

The Centre is a fully owned offshore office. It promotes student and alumni programs, facilitates exchange activities, and establishes partnerships with universities, enterprises and stakeholders in China while providing core liaison services.

The Centre carries out the following functions:

  • Student and alumni engagement activities
  • Liaison services for students, alumni, industry partners and university staff in China
  • External coordination, stakeholder relationship management, alumni career support and employability insights

Team members

- Zhaoyanyuan, Director and General Manager
Jenni Zhao is Executive Director and General Manager of the Centre, based in Shanghai. She leads work supporting the University’s China strategy across alumni engagement, employability, university liaison, and relationships with government, industry and university partners.
Previously Jenni was the University’s financial controller for almost seven years and has deep experience in compliance, risk and governance. She is a University of Sydney Executive MBA alumna.
